Trading & Investing

  • What is my trading account?
Your trading account is your personal gateway to the market. Once registered, you gain access to your own account where you can manage trades, track performance, and explore opportunities.
  • How is spread defined?
Spread is the cost measured by the difference between the bid price (what the market offers for a sale) and the ask price (what the market charges for a purchase).
  • Can you explain what a pip is?
A pip is the smallest price movement that a currency pair can make under normal market conditions. For example, if EUR/USD moves from 1.1000 to 1.1001, that change of 0.0001 is one pip.
  • Why is leverage important for CFDs?
Leverage is a key feature of CFD trading, as it allows you to trade significant positions using only a small portion of your funds. While this increases potential profits, it also raises the chances of losing your entire capital. Traders should always consider the impact of leverage before making decisions.
  • Why are CFDs popular in today’s markets?
CFDs offer a streamlined approach to trading, focusing solely on price movements rather than asset ownership. This makes them a preferred choice for accessing global markets like Forex, stocks, indices, commodities, and cryptocurrencies, all with the potential to trade both rising and falling prices.
  • What’s the purpose of a Stop Loss order?
A Stop Loss is designed to limit a trader’s loss by closing a position at a predetermined price. If you’re long, the Stop Loss is set below the entry price, and if you’re short, it’s set above. While this strategy aims to control risk, extreme market conditions may cause the order to fill at a less favorable price.
  • Why use a Take Profit order?
A Take Profit allows traders to automate the closing of a profitable position. In a buy trade, the price is set above the entry level; in a sell trade, it’s set below. This ensures that once the market reaches the target level, gains are realized without manual intervention.
  • What’s the Advantage of a Pending Order?
Pending orders allow traders to plan their entries and exits in advance, ensuring that positions are only opened or closed at specific price levels. This can help maintain discipline and remove emotional decisions from trading.
  • What’s Involved in Cryptocurrency Trading?
Cryptocurrency trading involves buying, selling, and exchanging digital assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum to profit from their price fluctuations. It’s similar to Forex trading, where traders take advantage of price differences between currency pairs, but in this case, it’s all about digital currencies. Key components include market analysis, choosing the right trading platform, and understanding the underlying technology and volatility of cryptocurrencies.
  • How does Physical Shares Trading differ from CFDs?
When trading physical shares, you purchase the stock outright and own a piece of the company. This contrasts with CFDs, where you trade on price changes without taking ownership of the underlying asset. Physical trading comes with ownership benefits but may involve higher upfront costs.
  • How to calculate trade size for an asset?
You can determine the required margin for opening a position by selecting the asset on the trading platform. Enter your desired volume and click the “(i)” button next to the asset name. A pop-up will display the necessary margin, helping you calculate the trade size.
  • When can you trade on global markets?
Global markets typically operate continuously from Monday to Friday. Keep in mind that public holidays can affect certain markets, leading to reduced trading hours.
  • How are the prices determined?
The pricing we display is obtained from a well-established liquidity provider, reflecting the most up-to-date market conditions.
  • What’s the smallest trade I can place?
The platform allows a minimum trade size of 0.01 LOT.
  • What is a swap fee?
The swap is a cost incurred for maintaining a trading position overnight.
  • How can I improve my trading knowledge?
Investico offers a comprehensive information center with trading tools and live market data.
  • How can I set up my favorites list?
To add an asset to your Favourites list, find it on the Trade page and click the star icon next to its name. The asset will then be accessible from the Favourites filter on the same page.
  • What’s the purpose of a lot?
A lot is the standard measure for trade size in CFDs, ensuring consistency across transactions. The most common size is a standard lot (100,000 units), though smaller increments—such as mini, micro, and nano lots—allow traders to customize their positions according to risk tolerance and account size.
  • How do ETFs work?
An Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) acts as a basket of securities that tracks a specific market index, commodity, or other assets. Since it’s traded on an exchange, you can buy or sell shares in the ETF at market prices, just like you would with a stock.
  • Where can I view my account balance?
Your current balance is displayed at the bottom of the Trade page on the platform.
  • Where can I see my past trades and transactions?
You’ll find a record of all trades, deposits, withdrawals, and fees under Trade History on the platform. Withdrawal status updates are listed under Banking or Pending Requests, and our support team is ready to help with any questions via Live Chat or email at [email protected].
  • How do I close an open position?
Navigate to the Trade — Open Trades section of the platform. Locate the position you wish to close, and click the Close button next to it. Before doing so, check the "Information" tab to ensure the asset’s market is open.
